1st Annual Parent Appreciation Night

Published

on

The first annual parent appreciation night was a heartwarming event dedicated to the caring parents of the students here at Pittsburg High. The event was inspired by a parent, Ms. Nisha Garin, whose idea encouraged us to truly honor families for everything they do. Our Principal, Dr. Richardson opened the night by acknowledging parents as the “heartbeat of our school”. The night continued on to feature amazing performances from the Jazz Ensemble and Choir, along with speeches from teachers, coaches, and parents. Many parents were honored for their support in their children’s academics, as well as different programs like soccer, cheer, and football. It was more than just an event, it was the start of a new tradition that recognizes the effort parents pour into their children.

June 4th

Published

on

June 4th is a day we are ALL looking forward to. It’s the start of summer, the June heat, and no more school. Which means no more assignments, tests, or notes. Ninth through twentieth graders would not be any more happier. Or maybe they could be.

June 4th is the class of 2026’s last ever day in high school; at least for most. It’s the final day of trying to get out of the p side parking lot, walking to class, and seeing most of their classmates, friends. It’s a momentous day, one that they have looking forward to for quite some time. one that they have earned. Expect they don’t get to cross that stage until June 5th, either way they are forever grateful it’s over.

For me personally I’m grateful it is. It’s a bittersweet thing. But one thing I am sure of is how grateful I am to have been one of your PSN writers. It challenged me in ways I never imagined, and it brought me a new dream of writing. Thank you Orozco!

And to the class of 2026

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

April marked Pitts bi-annual Every 15 Minutes program. It included seniors from the class of 2026. In the program, pitt students were thrown into a senecio of a car crash that was a result of drunk driving. It included two cars, one filled with people who had been “drinking” and the other where everyone was sober on their way back from an award ceremony. The scenario ended with 4 people shown to be severely injured, and one perished. The whole experience was one all the students were very attentive towards.

A student in particular, Nayelli, was asked why she participated. She stated that it was imported to be aware of drunk drivers and to not be one driving while under the influence. The program opened her eyes to how many people are truly affected by drinking and driving. Many others involved in the program and process also stated how drinking and driving can lead to tragedy in the split of a second. How one persons decision can lead to a domino of effects.
